China’s 70’s National Day Gala Performance Media Design
TITLE / Media Visual Design
COMPANY / Black Bow
I was invited to participate in the visual development of this extraordinary performance. The live performance was composed of 3,290 performers, each acting as an individual pixel holding a foldable LED screen choreographed to form various formations of the giant display above. This massive organically morphing screen displayed an over 1-hour long video that told an epic story of the growth and achievements of modern China.
I contributed to the initial visual development of the digital content including the Rainbow, Tree, City, and Flower sections. Creating a compelling visual language that elevated the storytelling while fitting within the technical and choreographic constraints was a challenging and rewarding experience.
